- █████ Copyright Notice:
-
- I'm no lawyer, but I do know what is right and just. I'm going to state
- this as plain and simple as possible.
-
- I claim no copyright on any program on this disc. These programs are
- copyrighted by the original authors. All I'm trying to do here is to
- make it easier for those authors to get their works out before the public,
- and to help them promote their products. Please support the shareware
- authors, for they are supporting YOU!
-
- I claim no copyright on the file listings on this disc. Yes, I put a
- lot of work on getting these to work correctly, but I know that it's
- rather ludicrous to try to copyright such work.
-
- If you want to use run this disc on a BBS, please, by all means, do so!
- This will help your callers a LOT, and it will help the shareware authors
- by getting their programs out in front of the public.
-
- If you wish to use this disc as a reference item for constructing your
- own file library, either for BBS, personal, or CD-ROM construction, then
- you are entitled to do so. I just love those CD-ROM discs that put on their
- "licencing agreements" that you cannot use the material on their disc except
- for what they feel you should... when they don't even own the programs!
-
- Ero Tek Inc. Assumes no responsiblity for any file on this disc, under any
- guise. We have subjected it to every resonable test, but there is no way
- that we personally could have checked every last byte of over 7,400 files
- prior to getting a timely publication out to you. It falls on the end user
- to practice "safe computing" and to make sure that all necessary precautions
- are taken.
-
- We have taken pains to insure that no illegal files are on this disc, such as
- commercial files, but there is no way to be sure in every case. Please,
- if you find such a file, write us at our address, and let us know, so that
- we can remove this file from future pressings. If you are a shareware author
- and find your file on here, and decide that we are not fit to help you dist-
- ribute your product, please let us know to remove your product from this disc,
- and we will be more than happy to accommodate you.
-
- I have seen discs that state you may not "rent" or "sub-licence" their product.
- Personally, I say if you want to, and can find someone that is willing to do
- it, go for it! <smile!> It's not like I can see over your shoulder, anyway.
-
- If you are running this disc on a Bulletin Board Service, then we request
- that if you find out that a particular program is not legal for BBS
- distribution or that the author requests that their program not be distributed
- via BBS (although I cannot see why, I know that there are some out there with
- some idea that this will cause grave cosmic consequences), then please remove
- the file from your file listings, and do not make it available for download.
- Although you are performing a service for the authors, some do not see it
- that way, and if they do not wish your help, don't offer it.
-
- Ero Tek Inc. is not responsible if you are unable to use the user interface
- on this program or any program on it. Ero Tek Inc. is not responsible if you
- find that you cannot use any program contained on this disc, or if any program
- contained on this disc causes you problems. Lets face reality here. There is
- no way that we can check out every program in every possible situation, and
- anyone that expects that to happen just doesn't have a very good grasp of the
- universe. According to what I have seen, some states do not allow the use of
- "blanket disclaimers," so, as they say, this warranty may not be valid in
- those states. My response to that is, well, if your state doesn't like it,
- then I don't license my disc to be sold in those states! <smile!>
- Turnabout is fair play, after all....
-
- I do not reserve the right to ask you to "terminate use" of this disc.
- It would be an injustice to tell you that you weren't allowed to use the
- disc after you paid good money for it. Let your honor be your guide -- not
- some idiotic, completely un-enforceable legal prose.
-
- I just love to see those goofy licensing agreements on some discs that
- state that if you don't like them, then return the disc for a full refund
- to the dealer that you purchased from. Like the dealer *has* to follow
- that bit of legalese! <smile!> I'll say this: if you choose your disc
- from an honorable, reputable dealer, then you will be able to return the
- disc, minus the cost of postage, for a refund. If you pick a bad dealer,
- or buy solely on the basis of cost alone, good luck getting your money
- back out if you decide you don't like the disc.
-
- I also love the discs that state that you cannot use their disc in a
- specific geographical area. Like it's going to make their support boards
- look like bozo's to have the disc running close to them! Get a life, folks.
- Our support board runs over 20 CD's, and I doubt that having another local
- board is going to run them out of business. If you can't stand to see your
- product being ran, then don't release it to the public.
-
- If you do not agree with the terms of this license, then you may either
- return the disc to the place where you purchased it and see if they will
- give you a refund, or you may use it for a cup caddy, a skeet shooting
- target, a stealth frisbee, or as a great way to decorate the rear view
- mirror of your car. If you can't get along with the licensing agreement
- on this disc, do your blood pressure a favor and never read any other
- licensing agreement in your life, because the ones that you find on most
- CD-ROM's these days are certain to give anyone that actually tries to
- take them seriously a coronary.
